Wide open, Spacious Life...

In The Message translation, 2 Corinthians 6:11-13, Paul tells us "Dear, dear Corinthians, I can't tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide open spacious life. We didn't fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren't small, but you're living them in a small way. I'm speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives, live openly and expansively."

In the New International Version translation, Paul talks about opening up our hearts and not withholding our affection. So many of us have been hurt in our lives, that we live a life guarding ourselves from being hurt by others. If we will trust God and enter this 'wide open, spacious life', what a difference in our joy we will experience. If we are willing to let God live in us and use us, he will guide us every step of the way.

I would likein it to one of those rare fireworks rockets, which explodes with a huge expansive array of color and beauty, as it cascades outwardly in the sky, bringing the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of all who experience it. Let this be our goal today to ask God to live in us and to give us the courage to let him guide us. If we allow this, the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of life will become reality.
