A Story to Tell...

Have you ever been on a trip and seen an old broken down vacant house, barn, shed or other structure, which draws your attention and curiosity? I have, and on many occasions, wanted to stop just to take a picture. Instead, I pass it commenting 'I'll bet that structure really has a story to tell...' If only they could tell you about their life and the many things that have happened over the past 100 or more years of their existence...
Shed in woods...

Since moving to the Indiana countryside, there is a woods across from my home and while driving past recently, I saw what looked like an old shed in the trees way back off of the road. I walked across the road to take a closer look and found a shed on a concrete slab, which was probably once on vacant farmland and which now is surrounded by trees, many of which are fallen over and dead.

If only they could talk, these structures in deed might  tell you more than you could possibly imagine about the families, persons, you name it, who have been part of their past. I can only imagine the Great-grandparents, and even farther back in the past, who have lived on this property, raised their families, and probably long since passed away. This shed and others like it serve as a constant reminder of the importance of each interaction and experience  we have with all others. Each new day is a blessing from God. With God's help, we can be a blessing today to each person who crosses our path!

The good news is, as believing Christians, we look forward to someday rejoining our family, friends, and all other believers, who have already passed from this world. We don't always understand God's ways, but we do know that He is faithful to watch over us and guide us according to His will. Deuteronomy 29:29 tells us 'The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever'  Thank you Lord, for all of your Blessings, and our Salvation!
