Truth is...

Finish this sentence..."Truth is...".

One of the most common responses would probably be "Truth is stranger than fiction," which is thought to have been coined by Lord Byron in his satirical poem written almost 200 years ago in 1823. In more recent times, Eminem has said "The truth is you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. Life is a crazy ride, and nothing is guaranteed. " He also said "A lot of truth is said in jest." How true that is!  Elvis Presley said "Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away." And finally, quoting Pope Francis, "Truth, according to the Christian faith, is God's love for us in Jesus Christ. Therefore, truth is relationship."

All that to say, each one of us will probably answer "Truth is..." differently and I am no exception. I would answer by saying "Truth is victory...". This statement holds so much meaning for me and I can't even take credit for having coined it. This is because I first heard it from my then trusted boss and friend Walt Slovik, who was the The Manager of Personnel in the Chrysler Lima Tank plant, in Lima Ohio. In addition to being a life lesson for me, it really summed up the most important aspects of our relationship.  One can only imagine the blessings of working in a profession, which you dearly love, and working for a boss, who you trust and respect. These are two aspects of living, which is so badly needed and so often not attained.

Pope Francis was right in saying truth is relationship. Jesus' whole life was one of example, where he set the example of relationship with His Father in heaven and with us as His children. And there are a lot of ways, you could show that "Truth is victory" both here on earth and in the life to come in eternity with Him!

Thank you Lord, that we can have victory in our relationship with you, with our family, with our friends, and even in our workplace as we interact daily with bosses and even total strangers. Thank you Lord most of all that as believers, we can all look forward to spending eternity with you in heaven.
